A Year Went By

So it has been exactly a year since Dada left us, which also marks the 1st Anniversary since my 3rd Pneumothorax attack. Funny how a year had past, yet everything from that night is still so fresh and vivid in my head.

With this, it also means that in just a couple of days' time, it would be a year since Sparky went missing. =(

I miss, I miss, I miss.

Last night, I dreamt that Sparky came back home safe and sound, and he still smelled surprisingly good despite roaming the streets for about 2 months now.

So far, our advertisements have gone unanswered, but we're still hoping for a miracle for his return some day. I miss that little guy. =(

This afternoon, just before I woke from my slumber, I dreamt of Dada.

In my dream, I saw Dada as a fit man, just like how he was before his stroke. I saw him crossing the carpark and I happily called out to him and ran towards him as fast as my short legs could carry me. I finally reached his side and he said just one sentence to me, "I'm now Dada and Popo together as one". And that was it.

I was tearing in my dream, and I woke up startled with real tears in my eyes. From what I decipher, his sentence meant that Popo has now taken the role or being a father and a mother to her children, and a grandfather and a grandmother to her grandchildren.

I miss Dada, I really do.

Today, someone from Pasir Ris called my younger brother and said that a dog very much resembling Sparky was found. Bro went down and according to him, that dog looked and barked exactly like Sparky, but Sparky's "birthmark" was not present. Also, the dog was not very responsive when my brother called him "Sparky". We can only continue to hope and pray that Sparky's safe and alive.

I miss Sparly, I really do.

4 girls and a guy headed to Malaysia via bus and stepped foot on Malaysian soils after crossing Tuas checkpoint. We spent endless of hours in Jusco, and daringly took the public bus to City Square in JB. Adventurous, and oh-so-awesome to get out of the country with friends, although it's just across the causeway.

And then we shopped and shopped and shopped, and only had lunch at 3pm when our backs and legs started to ache like crazy.

A pity NJ4 had to leave early, so I had to leave with him too. =(

But I'm happy with my loot from across the causeway. =)

p/s: I miss Sparky a lot. Please be safe boy. And I hope that some day not too far in the future, you'd be found and come back home to us. =(

All of a sudden, my drive to blog has disappeared. Or rather, everyday is so routine that there's really nothing to blog about.

To add a little life around this cobweb accumulating space, here's 2 short clips of Sparky being teased with food at 0030 hours.

AWWWW.....!!!

With my Elder Brother's wedding happening just about a week later, Sparky was brought for grooming for the first time by professionals. I've never liked Sparky in short hair because he looks funny.

And I've eaten so much for dinner today that I swear if I'm being hung up-side-down, everything would flow out. Surprisingly, I feel okay. Liar.

When Sparky meets Goldie...

Monday, July 14, 2008

Sunday was packed to the brim with activities, which I had balls of fun. NJ4 and I brought Sparky to East Coast Park for a walk. I guess this is when pictures speak a thousand words. Take a peek:

Looking up and down the street, waiting for his Kor Kor to arrive:

And then, Kor Kor finally arrived, so off we go!

And Sparky being his usual inquisitive self, he explored the vehicle:

After which, he enjoyed the scenery:

And then my baby got so bored because the journey was taking too long. Just look at his BIG BIG YAWN!

NJ4 had to pump petrol before continuing the journey, and this got my little baby pretty agitated. He scrambled about and was literally asking for his Kor Kor to return quickly.

The journey soon continued and Sparky decided to be SuperDog.

And then we FINALLY arrived at ECP!!!

We walked, and walked, and walked, and before we knew it, it was time to head home. My little one was so tired that he bade the world goodnight on the journey back home.

And that, was one happy day for Sparky. =D

NJ4 and I attended his friend's 21st birthday party later at night, and I must say that the Officers are pretty protective people.

And because I get red easily with the consumption of alcohol, but still totally sober (inherited this from my Dad), the birthday boy asked if I was okay and if I'm actually of legal age to drink. It was hilarious to see their reactions when I said I'm older than majority of them there. You mean I don't even look 18?! -_- LOL!

And it's really nice to be able to put faces to names now. =)

My little prince and his after-shower-routine.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Here's a minute of entertainment. (Don't mind my topless brother, lol.)

I love the way Sparky yelped in frustration when my brother kept teasing him. His stance made him look like an alligator. Such a doll.

When I got back home from school, Sparky followed me up to my room and within seconds, I heard rustling of the garbage bag. I took a peek, and caught Sparky red handed (for his case, red footed).

There was a chicken drumstick bone (and paper napkins) that's been nicely tied up in a food bag, but Sparky still managed to sniff it out.

I tapped him once on his ass, thrice on his head, but he completely ignored me and continued nudging at the food bag. It was only until I forcefully took the food bag away that he walked off. -_-

PS: Pardon the poor quality of the video. My handphone is crap.

Sparky's classic pleading look when he's told it's his shower time.

I love the way he places his head against stuff in that manner, and I love the way he curls up into a tight cute fur ball. Simple so adorable.

Because I cannot get enough of him. =D

This year, Sparky has new clothes to wear to go CNY visiting with us! =) He has a new red collar with a red bell to match his red shirt. In addition, my brother customised a dog tag for him. Not that we're wishing for Sparky to get lost again, but just in case.

My handsome boy.

MY BABY IS HOME!!!!! =D

At 8am, we went over to Bullion Park and the management told us that one of the cleaners passed Sparky to his friend to be taken care of, so brother drove us to People's Park to get him! Such kind-hearted souls.

The cleaner said that yesterday afternoon, Sparky was found swimming in Bullion Park's fish pond, and he's a great swimmer! LOL! This must be an adventure of his life! 1st night at Bullion Park, 2nd night at People's Park.

It's good to have him back! I'm off to bathe and feed my love now!

Class is cancelled today!

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Mom and I went round giving out flyers and putting up notices of Sparky. We approached the security guards at Bullion Park, and the guards said that Sparky was spotted yesterday afternoon!

The condo manager placed him at some corner but he isn't around at the moment and the guards do not know where Sparky is being placed. So they will call us tomorrow morning when the manager reports to work. There's hope. =)
Everything feels so weird and the house feels so empty without Sparky. I miss his constant barking, I miss his laziness, I miss the touch of his fur against my body, I miss him. =(

DAMN! Sparky is missing. Someone left the small gate open and the rain probably scared Sparky into running out. What a fucketty day.

This morning, I fed him breakfast and I showered him (both of which I haven't done in a while). I dried him off and I brushed his fur. I patted him, snuggled him, and kissed him a couple of times on his head. I don't know why I did all of the above today.

He was sparkly white, fluffy and happy when I left home for school. Now he's gone. I'm going to cry my eyes out now if you'd excuse me.

I covered as much area as I could in the 45 mins I was out looking for him, but...
I wonder if he ate anything for dinner...

A few months back, when the weather was crazily humid and when the air-conditioner in my room was wonky, I bunked in with my parents for about a week. So, because of my existence, Sparky had to be vacated from his usual sleeping spot. Perhaps he was unhappy about having to sleep at a different spot, or perhaps he just wanted a share of my comfort, therefore he did this:

Photobucket

Prior to this picture, he actually had the audacity to settle his whole body comfortably on my mattress. I had to place him on his white silk cloth a couple of times before he stopped inviting himself to my mattress. Thereafter, he discreetly inched nearer and nearer and laid his head on the mattress (as shown in picture above).

I swear that Sparky wasn't positioned there by anyone of us, he did that himself. People with domestic pets should know how cheeky these little buggers can be huh?

From afar, I heard my baby barking at a passerby, and as I approached my gate, that little guy started wagging his tail and was literally smiling at me. That sight alone was enough to warm my heart.

As I got closer, I was in fits of giggles, because the little guy looked ridiculously cute.

When you go to the doctor and get pills, they are usually placed in mini zip lock bags with your name tag on it. Apparently, my brother ripped off his tag and stuck it on Sparky's head.

I showed my grandmother, and this was what happened:

Grandma: Joey ah.
Brother: Har?
Grandma: I'm not calling you, there's another Joey here.
Brother: Orh.

HAHAHA.

According to my father, the owner of the retriever which bit Sparky already paid for Sparky's medical expenses. And apparently he paid just one day after the incident happened.

At least he's not so irresponsible and heartless as I thought. I was too quick to judge, my bad. Sparky's wounds are healing really very nicely now, but he still keeps forgetting that he has a big head (because of the cone he's required to wear), and still goes round knocking his big head against things. So cute.

University of London is sucking me dry of money. -_-"
