I had great fun at my boy's Social Night. =) A handful of girls came in gowns, which was a little over the top, but it was still a fabulous night.

Door gifts

NJ4's platoon won the Best Platoon Video award, kudos to them, especially for my boy for he was the one who did up the video. Congratulations darling!

The most amazing part of the evening was that NJ4 and I won the award for Best Dressed Couple, which was actually pretty lame. 5 couples were "nominated" and the guys then had to answer a few questions posted to them regarding their dates. And we were the only couple who answered every question correctly. With the way I was dressed, in no way do I consider myself as best dressed, in fact, it was quite ordinary. For winning, we got the following:

La Senza & N.U.M gift vouchers worth $50 each

GREAT FUN. =D

I just had a prelude to what dinner will be for my family + partners on the 20th, which is effectively our advanced Christmas family dinner. Mom did a trial on a couple of dishes, to ensure that on the day itself, cooking would be a breeze and the food would turn out great.

Shepherd's Pie

This was good! Potato and minced meat can't go wrong, but I would have preferred the meat to be more clumpy. Nonetheless, yum!

Chicken & crab meat crepe/wrap

I absolutely adored this, and the plus point is that it's very healthy! I just had about 2 rolls of it, and still want more. It's really THAT good.

I can't wait for the 20th. In fact, I can't wait for all 6 exciting upcoming events. And the first one would be in 2 days' time.

Friday, December 14, 2007

10 months since we embarked on this journey together, and I still love you much. Anticipating the next 2 weeks for it will be filled with 6 exciting events. =)

Glad that you're only booking in on Monday morning.

The new LCD TV is here and it's so ginormous that I can sit right at the far end of my living hall and still read the subtitles with ease. And my father was laughing at how the TV is heavier than me. Oh well.

After an unsuccessful trip to Mustafa last week due to being unable to get a parking lot, we tried again this week. And voila, we made it!

The last time I was at their supermarket was around the age of 12 -14, and I practically went wild there. No exception this time round. Mustafa sells the weirdest snacks ever, like barbeque flavoured Hello Panda.

Excluding the noodles and chips, the rest of the loot was mine but the boy refused to let me pay a single cent for them. -_- Never mind, everything shall be shared, especially the oh-so-delicious Turkish Delight. Damn, I'm so in love with them. -licks lips-

Such beautiful cupcakes have evoked happy feelings in me, but I won't be eating them just yet. It'll be shared between my love and I. =)

Gathering with PHS friends was absolutely fabulous. With the all-time-clown around, all of us were in constant fits of laughter. Happy to see Jo whenever she's back from Australia. =)

Like how WeiQuan put it, "We've grown, all of us can drive now." Indeed we've aged quite a lot. And it only seemed like a couple of years back that we were 13 and meeting each other for the first time in PHS. I heart you guys.

Exactly 4 years ago, I was filled with excitement as I headed to Police Academy for my Cadet Inspector course. The thought of going through a 2 weeks period of harsh drilling and grilling was frightening, yet at the same time exciting.

It was on that fateful day that I met you in Delta Squad. Almost immediately, you were categorised under my "bad" book. No, I didn't hate you then, but I just didn't like you very much. Maybe it was your looks, maybe it was the vibes you were giving out, I don't know. When we were assigned to our ATC groups and when I knew you were in Mercury with me, I swear I almost hit the roof.

But things took a turn after Mercury had to get together to make our group flag. I then slowly felt that you weren't as aloof as you looked. Since then, we slowly warmed up to each other.

Out of the entire Delta Squad of 20+ people, 4 of us were selected to hold the post of Delta's Drill Instructors, and coincidentally, you were one of the 4, with me. Interesting.

For ATC, it's a pity we didn't end up being canoeing partners. So near yet so far. I remembered how after the wet activities, the sole of your Nike shoes was flapping and threatening to fall off, and that cracked me up. Eventually, I helped you to step it off. And call it karma, a few days later, the sole of my track shoes started flapping just like yours. I remembered how you had a good laugh at my plight.

Passing out from CIBTC was one of the best moments in my life, and you had to miss your own passing out for your sister's University graduation in Australia.

Memories are such precious little things. And when I look back, it's very uncanny how we seem to always have so many coincidental encounters. Delta, Mercury, Chingay, and the list goes on.

Jay-Jay, I love you.

6 months since I last saw Ben, and today, we met up for dinner. It was a birthday treat from me to him. Went to Waraku at Starhub Center, and it's quite obvious now that I'm totally in love with Waraku, no?

His: Salmon Ikura Cream Udon - Mine: Demi Glace Hamburg

Shared: Green tea ice-cream with red beans and mochi

Ben was totally wow-ed by Waraku to the extent that he claimed he would be abandoning his ex-favourite Ichiban Boshi for Waraku.

Anyway, what's with all the riders who've pillioned me saying that it seems like they are riding on their own? All 5 riders whom I've rode with said the exact same thing and most of them told me to eat more. I'm fat enough already, thank you very much.

I've got the best Daddy (and Mommy) in the whole wide world!

Dad: What do you want to eat for dinner?
Me: Nothing, I just ate bread.
Dad: Turtle soup, want?
Me: No, not in the mood for it today.
Dad: Keep for tomorrow then eat? Expensive soup why don't want?
Me: Because I'm quite full, and save money lah, good!
Dad: Ginger tea, want?
Me: Nooooooo.
Dad: How about Dim Sum? Siew mai, pau, chicken feet?
Me: If there's shui jing bao, I don't mind.
Dad: Didn't see SJB. Never mind, I just buy something back for you. (In the background, I could hear my Mom suggesting a list of food.)

My parents are always trying all sorts of ways to make me eat. And if I would to have a craving for anything, they would be more than happy to go all out to get it for me.

I know I've put them through a lot since early 2004 regarding food, and I knew how crushed they were. I'm truly sorry. It wasn't by choice that I turned out that way, it just developed slowly and unknowingly as the dieting progressed. But, I'm no longer stick-thin like I was in 2005 and 2006. So Mom and Dad, it really isn't necessary to fret over my food consumption. I know both of you love me, and I do too.

My attention span during the day is almost non-existent, thanks to my ever-persistent insomnia. I can win "the walking zombie" award.

Sunday, November 25, 2007

This new Enchanted advertisement from Nuffnang is so appropriate because I just returned home from watching it with NJ4. Sweet show, and because it's sort of like a musical, I like it all the more.

What's that gross looking thing, you may wonder? It's dark brown, gooey, and looks absolutely disgusting. But I assure you, it isn't anything disgusting, though nothing to shout about either. It's actually:

Mudpie McFlurry

I feel cheated. It's essentially normal Oreo McFlurry with a dosage of hot fudge. Sure, it made the entire thing very chocolate-y, but really, not a big deal. ?Mudpie? -_- Because NJ4 said, "It's something new, we should try!", so we did. For me, I'd rather stick to chocolate milkshake.

Thank you darling, for making my day a cheerier one.

Saturday, November 24, 2007

I'm still learning how to not let a mini setback during the day depict how the rest of my day is going to be. I hope to be able to rebound from my little setbacks, and not have the "all or nothing" mindset.

There's actually a name for the 'fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of one's mouth'!!! It's 'arachibutyrophobia'. LOL!

I'll never be arachibutyrophobic for I'm a hardcore peanut butter lover. I ever finished a 794g bottle in 3 days, and I did that a couple of times. I blogged about it before, and for about a month, I was having only peanut butter for my meals. Wonky eating habits. And I can't believe I actually typed in such manner in the past. -_-"

Tuesday, November 20, 2007

I regret saying no to his request of talking to me one last time at 5am before he set off for his 3 days 2 nights patrol field camp.

For the fear of being unable to go back to sleep after the call, I declined him. Like what's new, I've been insomnia-ing for the last 4 years.

It's okay though, Thursday night isn't too far away.

Another Nuffnang advert, on a Nike charity run. This should be appealing to runaholics. Lose some flabs and do a good cause too.

******************

A lone spicy cheese donut from Donut Factory.

Wasn't craving for donuts today, but since we were at Velocity and that I've long wanted to try this particular flavour, my boy did the honour of getting one for me. A box of 6 or 12 (oh God forbid!) would have easily thrown me into a full-drive disaster.

Back to the donut, the spicy cheese tasted somewhat like the cheese on KFC's cheese fries, but with a slight peppery touch to it. I must say it's rather unique, but not on my top list. Also, it wouldn't be something that I die-die-must-have the next time a donut craving hits.

But because NJ4 and I were savouring the donut together, it made the whole eating experience a rather sweet one. =) I love NJ4.

About a week ago, I set myself a challenge.

Of those 9 days, I've had 7 purple smileys. Although it wasn't a perfect streak, I consider it as a huge success already.

About a month to the big day. I hereby set myself another challenge.

Mini pizza

Cute food again. The size of this pizza was that of my palm. Use the fork as a gauge, and no, I wasn't using a baby fork. The pizza was really that small.

The speed, urgency and amount scares the shit out of me. Especially so when I lift my head for a breather. When it strikes, it shows no mercy. Not something that's within my control at that point in time, but I do hope to muster control over it, sooner rather than later.

9 months of nonsense and jumping at each other's throat, but we're still surviving well. Battered and scarred, but love will heal them all. =)

Totally stuffed out from dinner at Boon Tong Kee with my family. Hello BingYu, hahaha!

One month from tomorrow onwards. On your (my) mark, get set, GO!

I like my new pencil case, because he's on it, LOL! (private joke)
Today was fairly good, although some unforeseen boo-boo happened, but all is well now (I think).

Collected my photocard licence from the post office before he brought me to Singapore Discovery Centre to visit the Army museum. The place was pretty bare (in terms of displays and human traffic), but the show/movie section was quite fascinating, with the effects and all.

This month's my turn to do the planning, so I brought him to Seah Street Deli at Raffles Hotel for late lunch/early dinner. Food was alright, but there was something really special about their mashed potato (and mind you, I'm not much of a potato person - a different story altogether when it comes to sweet potatoes though).

Salmon Steak - - - - - - - - - - Beef Pot Roast

The boo-boo occurred after that, but let's skip it, for everything is resolved now. Went back to AMKhub to catch Bee Movie. Very very very nice (at least to me it was very nice)! And today, my prince was good, because he didn't try to be funny and compete with my speed of throwing out his Debit card. =)

Friday, November 09, 2007

HEH! 30mins ago I was pissed, but not anymore, because NJ4 just arrived with THIS:

Earlier this evening, I told him that there's a new outlet at Velocity and he rushed there right after he book out just to get it for me! I actually told him only for convenience sake, so in future when the craving hits, we don't have to go so far to get them. Didn't expect him to spring this surprise on me! =) Thank you sweetheart!
Drats, my driving licence was delivered today but nobody was home to sign the registered mail. I'll probably collect it tomorrow.

Both my brothers are pure geniuses. They each took a set of the Kelisa's key yet neither of them used the car. The car is sitting nicely outside my gate and both of them are not at home. Because of the two bright bulbs, I can't pick my boy.

And why on earth is my elder brother holding on to the Kelisa's key when he has his own car. WTF.

It's drizzling and baby's going to get caught in it. =(

Wednesday, November 07, 2007

Sometimes, it's just not so funny anymore. One week challenge.

The piano pieces that my younger brother's girlfriend is playing now really is quite therapeutic. How I regret giving up after Grade 3, almost 12 years ago.

Sunday, November 04, 2007

It's almost 1.30am, and I'm home alone. Parents have gone to a friend's place for dinner, super havoc. Elder brother was at a wedding dinner, probably havoc-ing away as well.

Random: I love Waraku, a lot.

His: Yanagawa set (beef set)

I still love the udon like mad. The chewiness is oh-so-good.

Mine: Potato Mentai

The cheese was really quite orgasmic! LOL! Just look at that gooey stuff! YUM! It's really delicious, but I couldn't stomach too much of it at one go. Had to take a break in between before continuing. Then again, about half of it went into my baby's tummy. HAH!

Friday, November 02, 2007

OMG! NJ4 is here! Surprise bookout, and surprise drop by. YAYYY!

Thursday, November 01, 2007

Only second day after I got my license and my family members are already making me drive around. GAH! -_-

This morning, elder brother wanted to send me to AMK so I can take bus from there to school, ended up to be a scam, I had to drive myself to AMK, only with him taking over thereafter.

After dinner with my family, they made me drive home. GAHHH! And the night scene was so darn foreign to me for I've never had a night lesson before. But they agreed that I handled the manual car well. =)

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

Ever since my younger brother enlisted, and with my elder brother always coming home late (no earlier than 1130pm) everyday due to busy work schedule, I've been experiencing the "only child" treatment.

It's nice, but the entire house can get really quiet in the day, because my grandparents have gone back to their Holland Road bungalow for a few days. So most of the time, it's just Sparky and myself.

My parents have been "baby-ing" me a lot, and I really do feel very pampered. When my younger brother gets to book out next week, my parents would probably be too busy "baby-ing" him to "baby" me, but it's ok, for over the weekends, I have my baby to "baby" me. =)))

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

VROOOM!!! =D

Ok, excitement aside, I have to study for my Audit test now.

Monday, October 29, 2007

I miss my younger brother somewhat. The lack of his presence at the family hall just outside my room makes that whole area so lifeless.

I'm so anxious about tomorrow. Already feeling very cold and jittery now. Calm down, May Anne, calm down.

Friday, October 26, 2007

Bye bye little brother, see you in 2 weeks time, with a shaved head!

Thursday, October 25, 2007

The first time I had Pneumothorax, I had my suspicions on what actually caused it, but I wasn't sure.

The second time it happened, I was quite convinced that my frequent activity of it played a part in causing the relapse.

A couple of nights ago, I couldn't sleep because there was a slight constricted feeling in my chest. Decided to get up and google the question I had in mind. Will ______ cause Pneumothorax?

More than 3 articles confirmed that what I've constantly been doing was a factor that led to the development of Pneumothorax. The great force of the pushing action was straining my lungs.

Although I have improved a lot since a year ago, it is still not enough to stop the development of Pneumothorax. And so, I have to completely stop that soon. How, I don't know and I don't care. I'll do whatever it takes and focus on getting better. Determination is the key. I will do it.

Monday, October 22, 2007

From afar, I heard my baby barking at a passerby, and as I approached my gate, that little guy started wagging his tail and was literally smiling at me. That sight alone was enough to warm my heart.

As I got closer, I was in fits of giggles, because the little guy looked ridiculously cute.

When you go to the doctor and get pills, they are usually placed in mini zip lock bags with your name tag on it. Apparently, my brother ripped off his tag and stuck it on Sparky's head.

I showed my grandmother, and this was what happened:

Grandma: Joey ah.
Brother: Har?
Grandma: I'm not calling you, there's another Joey here.
Brother: Orh.

HAHAHA.

Those flying black bugs are such pests! Once every 3 to 4 weeks, a new bug will miraculously evolve out of who-knows-where and starts terrorizing me.

The bugs fly around aimlessly and stupidly keep flying head on into the wall. It's quite hilarious to watch them wham their heads against the wall. I know, I'm mean. -shrugs-

So, this morning, one was flying around my room, and being the super light sleeper that I am, that little creature woke me up with its buzzing sound that it emitted when it was flying around and the light "piak" sound when it kept slamming itself against the wall.

I'm not too sure if I killed it or just knocked that poor creature out, because after swatting at it a few times with my little cushion, the bug went all quiet. It buzzed a little after a moment of silence, but that was it. Now, there's no buzzing, no "piak-ing".

There's a price to pay for causing me to wake up. But having to die for it? I hope it isn't dead, just concussed.
Oh yay, my very first Nuffnang advert is here! =)

Friday, October 19, 2007

Over a span of 14 days, I've had 10 purple smileys decorating my calendar, which is already a very big achievement for me.

Just as I thought I'm starting to have control over it, I relapsed, 3 days in a row. And it came back with a vengeance. Because of it, I'm sore all over, losing sleep once again, and feeling fatigue 24/7.

2004 till now. Go away, get lost, be gone.

The way I feel right about now.

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

OH MY GOODNESS! The hawker centre and wet market behind Presbyterian High School just got burned down! The entire market is gone! There was fire from ground to roof everywhere.

It started off with a small fire, but soon spread at full rage, engulfing the entire hawker and market, and that includes the tables and seats.

So now, there's no wet market and no hawker centre behind PHS. All that is left is black soot all over. I'm already missing the dessert stall.

Monday, October 15, 2007

After almost one and a half month of not touching the steering wheel, my driving deteriorated a little.

Every course was fine except for my S course. Only towards the end of the 2 hour lesson then did I get my senses of the wheels right.

It's a good thing that I can still manage the rest of the circuit courses and the road was a breeze. My next 5 revision lessons should be enough for me to bond with the vehicle properly once again. Car/senses/skill, I love you all, please don't forsake me.

Sunday, October 14, 2007

The 4 of us are in need of a barf bag, not because the food was horrible, but the reverse. It was so good that we were eating a little too fast for our digestive systems to send "full" signals to our brains.

The scones and sandwiches came in a 3-tier holder, and boy, were they good! Especially the smoked salmon sandwich. I was practically loading up on them, with only a small taste of the other varieties.

The counter selections were basically desserts. Chocolate pralines, muffins, cakes, cheese quiche, pies, cookies, et cetera. The cheese quiche was oh-so-heavenly, and so was the lemon pie/tart.

Just one round of the 3-tier selection and the counter was enough to cause an immediate sugar rush. The most captivating item of the entire high tea was actually their 'sleeping teapot'. Look:

I'm not sure if it's spelt as 'slipping' or 'sleeping', but after much discussion with my boy, we concluded that it should be 'sleeping', because of the way it's "lying" down. Whether or not you decide to let the teapot "sleep" depends on your own taste bud. For people who prefer thin tea, they should "sit" the teapot upright, but for those who enjoy their tea to be thick, the 'sleeping teapot' should be the way it's being named, "sleeping".

I had the Apple Amaretto, and so did my brother's girlfriend. The guys had some lemon honey tea which I forgot the name to it. And regarding the fact that the girls and guys had similar teas respectively, it wasn't planned at all. Just purely coincidental.

Going out with my brother is one hell of a crappy but enjoyable outing. It was really nice for the 4 of us to go out on a lazy Sunday afternoon and enjoy life in this manner. I love my brother.

And to my boy, happy 8th month to us. I love you.

He said that there's one thing you can never replicate, and that's the kind of love we share. How true.

Saturday, October 13, 2007

In early celebration of our 8th month being together, my boy brought me to Z'en at UE square for dinner today. The interior was really nice and cosy. And I must say that the food did not disappoint either.

The dish on the left was his, fried rice with crab sauce. Very tasty, and I loved the sauce a lot. It had the texture somewhat similar to shark's fin soup with crab sticks. The right dish was mine, swordfish with teriyaki sauce. Slightly too salty for my liking, and serving was tiny. If I wanted to, I could have wiped out the entire dish in 2 mouths. So, go figure the serving. But for someone like me, it was definitely more than enough. In fact, about half of it actually ended up in my boy's tummy. Not too bad, still quite a palatable dish.

After dinner, NJ4 again surprised me by driving us all the way from town to Sunset Way. Why? Just because I told him that Daily Scoop has a new Avocado flavour that I'm dying to try.

Single scoop of Avocado ice-cream

Tomorrow, we will be heading to Conrad Hotel for high-tea buffet with my younger brother and his girlfriend. Compliments from my dearest Mommy of course. This is life. =)
When it comes to fulfilling cravings and any other sort of impulsive actions of mine, nobody does it better than NJ4. Some time last week, I told him that we've yet to revisit Ice³ for their mudpies. We've been there for the chocolate fondue many months ago but it was quite a letdown. Their mudpie won me over though.

Eyes Wide Open

That was my mudpie, which was basically mocha ice cream, topped with Milo powder and a generous serving of chocolate chips. The size of it was giganormous! My boy had this sudden urge of having something with banana (I have no idea why), and so he got himself a banana split (3 flavours of your choice).

Serving was super generous too! It was as though their ice cream was free or something.

My boy's the best. Always bringing me around to settle my cravings once he book out. I love you. =)

Friday, October 12, 2007

The 3 weeks of OCS confinement is finally due today! I'm getting to see him for the 1st time in 3 freaking weeks!

The last I saw of him, he still had the recruit hairstyle (or lack of rather). I'm sure he has much longer hair now, no more recruit style!

I miss him so badly. About 9 more hours before I get to see him. =(

Tuesday, October 09, 2007

I personally believe that one should not find a partner who completes him/her, but a partner who complements him/her.

The reason behind is that when the one who completes you leaves, you'd be left with a gaping wound where it was once filled by the partner who completed you. But when the one who complements you leaves, fond memories are left behind and can be kept for life.

I have already found someone who complements me perfectly. =)

Monday, October 08, 2007

This is so cute! I've never seen bread of such size before! It's just around the size of my palm. Again, I wonder why am I always having cute and weird food for late lunch.

Friday, October 05, 2007

I loathe attending my Corporate Finance (CF) lectures on Thursdays, and no, it's not because I can't stand the module or the lecturer, but it's the people in class that are very very VERY sickening.

For the UOL programme, when you're at the lecture theatre 10 minutes before the lecture starts, you're already considered to be very early. But for CF, even if you're there 15 minutes before the lecture commences (which in the case of other modules you'd be super duper early), you're deemed to be VERY late!

Why?

Because there are people who are there even earlier, and God knows what time they were there since. It's as though they camped there overnight. And the sickening part is that those early freaks (a.k.a 'the kiasu bunch') would help to reserve seats for their friends whose souls can't even been seen in the vicinity.

These people would conveniently "chop" places by planting a single highlighter/pen/stack of notes/umbrella/what-nots on the table. Evidence here:

It is still pardonable if it's only a few tables being reserved, but when I was there 15 minutes earlier, I had to practically tour the entire lecture theatre before I managed to find a vacancy without a bloody highlighter or pen or whatever occupying the otherwise empty seat.

Oei, typical Aunties and Uncles in the making in my CF class! Take your pick! Quality guaranteed! -_-
