Batam

As a 3rd month celebration, K bought a short trip to Batam for the 2 of us last week.


Our resort was pretty nice, although the room was a little small.





Because there was nothing to do around the resort, and the "swimming pool" was too gross looking to utilize, we car-pooled with another group of Singaporeans and went out to town.



And of course, we whacked A&W! I haven't had A&W ever since they closed down in Singapore, but I was quite disappointed with the waffle ice cream. The rootbeer float didn't fail though!

The cabbie was scheduled to come back to get us 6 hours later and we finished combing the place in about an hour, which left us dying of boredom for the next 5 hours. It was then I learnt that somebody can't frown for nuts!


HAHAHAHAHA!

The following day was slightly better as we had a half day city tour.









And we left Batam with a beautiful sight at the ferry terminal.

Finally Here!

After almost 3 weeks of waiting, K and my TOMS shoes are here! It was well worth the wait and the money spent. =D

2 Noobs' Kite Can Fly!

The last time I flew a kite was back when I was still staying in the West, more than 15 years ago.

The Boyfriend planned for us to have a picnic and kite flying session, and thankfully the weather was awesome and so the plan fell into place nicely. =)

We made a simple snack of egg mayo and cheese wrap for the picnic, and off we went to Marina Barrage!








It's been awhile since I last had this much fun in the sun! Thank you for planning this. =)

Run & Snap!

So, Shape run came and went, and I surprised myself by running 5km non-stop. On a usual basis, I was never able to run 5km continuously, much less do it under 35 minutes. Now, I can't wait for my results certificate to reach me via post.

So after all the morning adrenaline rush and excitement from the run, evening came with more excitement from the photography lesson that my girlfriend and I signed up for. A noob armed with a Canon 550D, I got these shots:

My Virgin Attempt

After living for 1/4 of a century, I finally participated in my first ever paid run! It was a really great experience and I'm glad I have another 2 of such events on hand, and it definitely won't be stopping there. =p

So after running/jogging/walking for 10km, I finally finished and was still very much alive! Not too bad for someone who has never ran anything more than 5km before.



And then Val finally came back, followed by Sus!
