Go-Kart Experience

Was invited by D to join her friends for a JB go-kart and shopping day out and obviously, the boyfriend and I jumped at the opportunity and agreed to go!

Out of 10 pax, 8 of us have never tried go-kart before, so we were all very excited about it.

When we arrived at the go-kart destination, it began to drizzle, followed by a crazy storm and that really dampened our moods because it almost felt like the rain would not let up, and we would miss the chance to try that activity. Thank God we stuck around and the rain finally lifted. And off we went!

RM35 for 10 minutes of adrenaline rush was so worth it! Because the ground was still wet from the downpour, a few of us skidded but recovered quickly. I personally skidded twice and spun 360 degrees both times. To be honest, the both times I skidded, I silently chanted, "Don't crash, don't crash, don't crash." It was pretty scary because I had almost no control of the wheel when the kart was spinning. So after dashing through the circuit for the first round and after skidding twice, I went slower and slower in the subsequent rounds until my 10 minutes was up.

When we all returned and line the karts up, I realized that the kart I was assigned to was relatively smaller than the ones the others used (the blue kart on the left was what I used, while the others used the kart the size of the one in the foreground as per the picture). I suspect I was assigned a kid's go-kart instead of the standard adult-sized one. Am I really that small? =( But my kart had a lot of power nonetheless, and it was indeed an awesome go-karting experience!

NJ4's New Toy.

My boyfriend has a one week old new toy.

At SITEX last week, he bought the Canon EOS 7D to replace his current Canon EOS 30D. Being the excited boy he is, I know he couldn't wait to play with his new toy, but he refrained himself because he wanted me to be the first image captured on his brand new baby. And over the weekend, he finally got to fiddle with his new toy.

Because he couldn't wait anymore, he made me drive to Padang, so he could snap away crazily. 100+ pictures captured over a span of under 2 hours. Boy, you're overly hyped.

Conquered A Monster.

A couple of days ago, Dilun needed help to shift a 7-seater MPV from Aljunied to Punggol and I was asked if I could render him my help.

I wanted to help but didn't feel I was up to it because I have not driven in 4 months, much less something so huge like an MPV. After much persuasion, I relented and went down to Aljunied after work. When I saw the monster Honda Stream, I wanted to run away!

The car was way taller than I am but width-wise it was narrower than a Camry and BMW, both of which I have handled before. Heck, I even drove an Extol van before too. Lol. So, it wasn't as scary as I thought. We ended up at Punggol alive and that is all that matters. Hahaha.

So, over the last few days, I took a break from Clif bars and ventured on to my Luna bars. The first bar I ate from my massive order was Luna Sunrise Strawberry Crumble, which I somehow forgot to take a picture of it. Nevermind, there are still 14 bars of it for me to snap away like crazy. Anyway, like most Luna bars, Strawberry Crumble was sweet and crunchy. The jam layer on top wasn't very strawberry-ish, but the yoghurt base was creamy and delicious. On the whole, the bar was good but I personally find it more suitable to be a snack/dessert bar rather than a breakfast bar.

Luna Chai Tea was very different from the usual Luna Bars that I'm so used to. The strong scent of spices intrigued me when I opened the package. The infusion of spices did wonders to the bar and it is really quite unexplainable (and it doesn't help that I don't always express myself very well). Nice as it was, I wouldn't say that I fell in love with this bar. A once in a while treat would be fine, but it doesn't leave me hankering for more once I'm done with one. Maybe a second shot at it will be a different case?

Physically, Luna Sunrise Blueberry Bliss looked very much like the Strawberry Crumble, and like SC, it didn't carry a very blueberry-ish flavour. Sweet, crunchy and again, it is much more suitable to be a snack/dessert bar.

At the rate my bars are disappearing into my stomach, it's going to take forever for them to deplete! And greedy me have already eyed more bars to be brought in. =X I shall be patient and wait till my current stash is running low first, and who knows by then I may have gotten sick of bars and moved on to another food phase.

Luxury!

The full body massage was ticklish and painful, but it left us yearning for more. 75 minutes flew by so quickly! Thank you darling. =)

Ungracious Driving Etiquette.

Ferried my Daddy to and fro TTSH for his appointment, and it's only today I personally found out how ugly some Singaporean drivers are.

As I was turning into the expressway, I was honked at by a bastard behind for no apparent reason. I was in my own lane, going at a normal speed, and seeing that I was at no fault at all, my Dad told me to slow down on purpose.

And then, an idiot in a lorry high-beamed me when I cut into his lane as I was exiting the expressway. Excuse me, he was 3 cars (or more) length away, so why did he high-beam me for.

The last one was a bitch. I signaled way in advance and there was space to cut infront of her so I did, and then she tapped her horn lightly, which was obviously just for the sake of honking to bully me rather than because I caused her to take any evasive actions. Dad said, "Don't bother, you gave advanced signal, she want to chiong forward to prevent you from entering is her problem." ROAD BULLY!

Just because I have a P-plate doesn't mean it gives such "experienced" drivers a chance to bully me. Please, you ass holes went through this phase as well, don't act so high and mighty and bully P-plate road users. It's just another 2 more months, you wait and see. Such road bullies ought to be shot in their heads.

Oh, the joy of driving a manual car without supervision! Actually, I'm fine with having passengers in the car, provided my Mom's not one of them. The whole family always get a earful when any of her kids drive. Wait, scrap that, sometimes she even nags at how my Dad drives. LOL!

HancockAnyway, Hancock is an unrealistic show, but the effects and thrills I got from it were worth the watch. I think it's nice, maybe because I'm not a fussy movie goer.

And, life as an Officer who's on course is so relaxed! I get to see my love almost everyday since his course started. And this will last till 18th July. =D

Last night we set off in 2 cars and met up at Jumbo Seafood (East Coast). My boy made me drive, and he played King. So, because of that, I made him piggyback me when we arrived at East Coast.

Evidence of a very 不爽 May Anne.

As we were making our way to the restaurant, we heard a loud crack overhead. My boy stood still, and I was praying that the branch wasn't directly above us. A split second later, I felt a thud on my head and a big fat branch was on the ground, barely 5cm away from us. Because I was being piggybacked, I became his shelter (albeit not a very big one). My forehead (nearing the hairline) freaking hurts like mad now, and there's a bump. Elder brother called me a luo han. -_-

Being slightly concussed, I was hoping my tastebuds would change somewhat, so I tried bonding with the chilli crab, but my attempt failed yet again. I guess I have to resign to the fact that I can never eat crabs like before. Dad said it's probably my own psychological barrier. Perhaps. But the taste of crabs really does make me nauseous. GAHH!

Pretty bag!

Sister-In-Law gave me an advanced birthday present! Thanks!

Drats, my driving licence was delivered today but nobody was home to sign the registered mail. I'll probably collect it tomorrow.

Both my brothers are pure geniuses. They each took a set of the Kelisa's key yet neither of them used the car. The car is sitting nicely outside my gate and both of them are not at home. Because of the two bright bulbs, I can't pick my boy.

And why on earth is my elder brother holding on to the Kelisa's key when he has his own car. WTF.

It's drizzling and baby's going to get caught in it. =(

Only second day after I got my license and my family members are already making me drive around. GAH! -_-

This morning, elder brother wanted to send me to AMK so I can take bus from there to school, ended up to be a scam, I had to drive myself to AMK, only with him taking over thereafter.

After dinner with my family, they made me drive home. GAHHH! And the night scene was so darn foreign to me for I've never had a night lesson before. But they agreed that I handled the manual car well. =)

After almost one and a half month of not touching the steering wheel, my driving deteriorated a little.

Every course was fine except for my S course. Only towards the end of the 2 hour lesson then did I get my senses of the wheels right.

It's a good thing that I can still manage the rest of the circuit courses and the road was a breeze. My next 5 revision lessons should be enough for me to bond with the vehicle properly once again. Car/senses/skill, I love you all, please don't forsake me.

Today was by far the best trip down to SSDC, because I had him with me. That lucky boy will only be booking in later tonight, so he accompanied me to my driving lesson.

I'm so blessed to have him there to wait out that one hour plus with me after my lesson for my Final Theory Test. Booked for my TP test, and it's an agonizing 5 months long wait.

The "Little Terror" will be patient. =)

While having my driving lesson earlier today, I spotted an unusual sight. Then I told my instructor about it and the following happened:

Him: Hmm, nice arh. But maybe it's an indication of how big the hole in the Ozone layer is now.
Him: No, maybe UFO!
Me: *crack up with laughter* It's the end of the world already.
Him: *started bobbing up and down around the car, stretching sideways to get a good view like a kid*

After that, whenever I bring the car to a halt, the two of us would start looking out and up of the windscreen to view that awesome sight.

Him: People from outside and from other cars will think why this instructor and trainee keep staring up into the sky. They might think we're mad.
Me: HAHAHAHAHA.

Just take a look at this beauty:

Pretty, no? It's like there was a circular rainbow around the sun. Just that it wasn't and couldn't be a rainbow. Rainbows do not circle the sun in that manner. It was a perfect circle, with the sun smacked right in the middle of it. Like how when light is refracted or reflected in a certain manner, you get such "rainbow" effect. Very very very pretty.

When I drove the car back into the driving school, my instructor happily wound his window down and started telling the other instructors that there's a "rainbow" in the sky. After lesson was over, I couldn't care less and stood right in the midst of all the school cars and snapped pictures of that pretty thing.

What a sight.

For the first time since he enlisted, my man who is learning to protect our nation, is booking out today, on a Friday night!

Sometimes I wonder what's the purpose of booking out on a Saturday afternoon and having to book back in on Sunday evening. That's just about 30 hours back in civilization, then they've got to be packed back to merge with the sea of green again.

I shall embrace this long weekend with my one and only. Can't wait to go and get him after my driving lesson later, yay!

Rain, please stop. It's terrible to drive in the rain.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

It's been half a year since we've been together, and slightly more than three and a half years since we've known each other. Has it already been THAT long? It sure doesn't feel so. I love you. =)

Had my third driving lesson today and like the other two instructors, my instructor today thought I'm 18, 19 max. He was saying that if I would to go to the movies for a R21 film, I'm bound to have to flash my identity card. -_-

I can grow old looking young for a long time to come, but the crow's feet by my eyes are starting to show, damn. Mom has been nagging me to start taking care of my skin since I was 13, for it's never too young to start. And I shall! I want to have supple skin like my Mom even when I'm nearing 50.
